What are clients says about BAREBACK PADS :-

"I purchased one of your western style bareback pads.... Best thing I EVER bought. In fact, I am looking at getting another. Thanks for having such a nice product. Please don't jack up the price just because they're loved....Just seems to happen when I find something perfect." - Yvonne via email

"It's well made, it stays put, and I stay put when I'm riding on it!  And the product arrived even quicker than promised!" - Patricia G. via e-mail

“Please add me to the list of people who are very happy with this pad! My Arab mare is a petite 14.2 and the Pony size is perfect for her! No slip, nice grippy seat, easy clean up." - Gail in Belmont NH

"I love your English Bareback Pad. It's like a Velcro sofa and the girth is the best I've ever seen on a bareback pad--and I've seen many. I recommend this to all my riding buddies."  - Laura; Wellfleet MA

"We ride with a large barn that teaches natural horsemanship so we all use your bareback pads." - Cherie via email

"My Best Friend bareback pad arrived last night and I took it to the barn this morning to try it out.  It stayed put, I stayed put, my 16.2 hand Missouri Foxtrotter moved freely and comfortably and everyone at our dressage barn is jealous of the pockets (I bought the western style).  I'm an older adult amateur dressage rider (yes, on a Foxtrotter) and I've been having some balance issues over the past couple of years.  Going back to bareback seemed the best way to work on that and now I'm on my way.  I'm thrilled!  Thank you!!"   - Jessica via email

Thanks for my new bareback pad - tried it for a couple of short jaunts - I think I'm in love!   Thank you again for the great product and efficient service." - SL, Massachusetts

"Now, THAT is a nice bareback pad.  Thank you for the quick delivery."  - Linda, via email

"I bought this pad 3-4 years ago and I love the Best Friend Bareback Pad!  I have used other pads and have actually left them on the side of the trail because they slide and won't stay put; not the Best Friend, this one is the best!  It's not too thick, which I like, and it does not move or slide.  Thanks for a great product!"  - L. R., Ellensburt, WA via email

"I bought the Western bareback pad at the Equine Affair in Columbus last year and I just wanted to say that it was a real buy.  I would describe myself as a still beginning rider with a bit of riding time under my belt.  I've discovered that riding bareback has really helped my balance and when I used my saddle, I actually set a new personal record time of posting in a trot and not sitting back down.  Before buying your pad, I had tried another brand of bareback pad with my mare, and she hated it.  With this pad, she doesn't seem to mind one bit.  Thanks again."  - J.M., Findlay, OH November

"I LOVE the grip it provides!  I'm able to concentrate on my riding and not worry about sliding off.  The faux suede grips just enough for me and the textured grippy bottom is great for my horse.  The girth is made of the same material so it's also slip free.  I also love the pockets to hold little things like treats, gloves, cell phone, etc.  The water bottle holder/pocket is great for those hot days just walking down the trail, too.  This is a GREAT buy and definitely worth every penny.  The little extra cost is worth getting the pockets on it, too."  - Rated 5 out of 5 by the "Horse Tack Review" website.

"I've got a Best Friend bareback pad and find it fits my very high withered horse much better than the Parelli one did that I borrowed to try out.  They're softer, more comfortable, have a breathable underside and are much easier to keep clean...plus they come complete with girth!!  Even if I had the opportunity, I wouldn't swap my Best Friend for a Parelli bareback pad."  - From the Parelli Forum.

"I love my Best Friend Bareback pad--it's so nice to ride in.  Darcy has high withers and his spine is prominent due to a badly fitting saddle.  He has muscled up along his back and shoulders now which is great.  It does not move even if the girth is a bit loose, and it washes well in the machine."  - From the Parelli Forum.

"This made a HUGE difference in how secure I feel while riding bareback.  I'd been doing some walk/trot work without a pad and felt like I was going to fall if I took more than just a few trot steps at a time.  With the pad, I was able to comfortably trot a huge circle and still felt relatively balanced."  - From the Parelli Forum

"Because of the huge price difference I prefer this pad to the Parelli pads I've used before.... Overall, a very nice pad and an absolute bargain compared to some other pads."  - From the Parelli Forum

"It was my "best find" last year at the Rolex!"  - Kelly, Lexington KY

"Best tack investment I ever made."  - Dee, Lexington KY

"My BF Bareback Pads are secure, comfy, and pain free.  My adult daughter also uses a BF Bareback Pad at her therapeutic riding center."  - Millie, Magnolia TX

"This pad has changed my view of riding bareback.  I used to have a fear of bareback riding, but this pad gives me enough stickiness that I can cantering the fields and not worry about slipping.  I've had the pad over 5 years and it still looks brand new.  All I have done is take a hard brush to the top every once in a while - not even every time I ride!  We have a lot of people at our barn who have thrown away the fuzzies and purchased your pads." - Jennifer via email

What are clients says about GRAZING MUZZLES:-

"I have some experience with muzzling horses, and if there's one thing I've learned, it's that fit and quality matter.  Best Friend grazing muzzles are the best brand I've ever tried by far.  My "easy keeper" Appy mare has been wearing the same Best Friend muzzle for three years in a row.  It fits, it stays on, and it works!  I'd give this product 10 stars if I could. Seriously, it's that good." - On the web by S. Freeman

"...I've also purchased a less expensive version, but he stepped on the base and ripped it completely out of the mesh basket on the very first day.  The Best Friend muzzles last a long time, although eventually he will wear the opening in the base and make it larger.  I usually need two per year...Still, it's an excellent sturdy product that does everything it is supposed to do and can make a life changing difference for you and your horse."  - J. Horvath on the web

"My Rocky Mountain Horse hated the Best Friend's muzzle at first, but I make sure he's fed and has had sufficient hay before putting him out in it.  He's learned "the program" now, and knows that it's off when he's in, and on when he's out, and doesn't fight it anymore."  - Lisa from "The Horse" website

"(Your muzzle) truly did save my horse's life.  She foundered last summer and I found your product.  She is now recovered but I still make her wear her muzzle.  She never puts up a fight to wear it.  I really thought she would have to be put down, but thanks to your muzzle she is a healthy, happy horse again.  Thank you from the bottom of both our hearts."  - Debbie via email

"I purchased one of your grazing muzzles for my Morgan gelding. He is a very easy keeper and he foundered last summer from overeating on pasture. We have been using your muzzle and it works great!! He looks like a different horse. I must say I was a bit skeptical if he would get used to it and if it would stay on. It only took about a day for him to get used to it and it hasn't come off once yet. He is pastured with another gelding that rips everything off of all the other horses and even he has not been successful at removing it. Thanks for a product that actually does what you advertise it to do." - Dean via email

"Thanks or yet another super-fast, easy transaction. I wouldn't still have my horse if it wasn't for your grazing muzzles! My horse contracted Equine Metabolic Disorder last. My fault. I left him out 24/7 on 25 acres. We went through a couple of horrible months, but with the guidance of a phenomenal vet and your grazing muzzles (I've gone through a few), he is a new animal. Slim, sound and happy! I will never own a 'fat' horse again." - Gaynor via email

"Here in fescue land we value the laminitis-sparing miracle of the Best Friend Muzzle. We also use the muzzle only attached to a breeding halter for stallions. Chain shank can still be used as a bit and it easily passed through the muzzle. Very helpful with stallions that get 'mouthy'! Thanks, Best Friend" - G.G. Rogersville MO

"Last week my horse starting using a grazing muzzle for the very first time. I was surprised that she really didn't care, made no effort to take it off and was grazing with no problem in minutes!" - J.H., Georgia

"Your grazing muzzle has meant a world of difference in quality of life for my geldings. With your muzzle, they can be out in the pasture at least half the day, enjoying being a horse. It is amazing how quickly they learned to eat though that tiny hole.  I've seen your product get better and better... Additionally, I have purchased look-alike products, but yours is the best. The others cause chafing and rubbed spots, while yours is the most comfortable for the horse. Definitely worth a few dollars more and a new muzzle every year costs far less that one vet call for laminitis." - P.L., Ottsville, Pennsylvania

"Thanks for such a great product! I have been using Best Friend Grazing Muzzles for 4 to 5 years now after my horse was diagnosed with Cushing's Disease and had an episode of laminitis. I was fortunate to come across your product in our local pet store, but they later discontinued all horse items. Thank goodness your web address was on the packaging. I know my horse appreciates being able to still be out on the pasture with all of his buddiesinstead of cooped up in his stall. Thanks again!" - Nancy via the internet

"I had never used a grazing muzzle until I purchased an American Shetland pony last year. The tales of pony metabolism are not exaggerated. It's really been a challenge, especially keeping my pony in shape during show season and yet wanting him out in the field with his friends. I decided to order the Best Friend brand grazing muzzle based on excellent reviews in magazines and the obvious quality over competitors and knock offs. The first thing I noticed was the obvious care that the company used in marketing this item. The directions are WONDERFUL...very detailed and empathetic to the horse, insisting that the owners allow their animals some time to adjust this device and very clear that owners should not just buckle it on and walk way!

"...I have learned first hand the importance of the built-in safety feature. I had allowed my pony a bit of grazing time with his muzzle. He waked over towards the water trough, rubbed his face on the no-climb equine fence and promptly managed to catch the snap on the fence. Naturally he panicked and jumped back. His muzzle was still snapped to the fence and he was safely free when the safety buckle let go." - Sherry via the internet

“The absolutely best way to effect weight loss in a horse that is on pasture is a grazing muzzle. I have two real fat horses in my pasture and with the muzzles they get to be out with the herd-mates while eating much less feed. Works like a charm!” - Dr. Karen Hayes DVM, co-author of “Hands-On Senior Horse Care”

“These muzzles have worked extremely well for all the horses that I have recommended them for and I've been getting good owner feedback. Many muzzles in the past were too stiff and caused rubbing and wounds on the skin. This muzzle is flexible as well as durable and works well for horses…This certainly is the most economical adjunct to weight management in the horse.” - Sport Horse Medicine.com

“We rate the (Best Friend Grazing Muzzle) #1 and so did John Lyons’ Perfect Horse publication.” - Farriers’ National Research Center

“The breakaway feature really works. I’m ordering another buckle to be ready and I’m ordering another muzzle for my other horse because the one he’s wearing uses Velcro and I believe he would be injured before it breaks away. Your light weight muzzle makes me feel better about using one. Plus the chafing the horses got from other muzzles is non-existent with Best Friend Deluxe. Thank you for a superior product.”  - E.B., Bedford, Virginia

“I was going to get rid of my pony because I’ve been unable to get her to lose weight. This is the answer to my dreams.”  - P.P., Edinburg, VA

“The BF Grazing Muzzle is the best. It’s lightweight and doesn’t rub my horse. And I’m relieved of the worry of him ever biting other horses.” - S.S., Calispell, MT

“The (Best Friend) Grazing Muzzle is GREAT. Dora can be on 24-hour turnout with her friend and doesn’t have to spend her summer in a dry lot. I take it off of her for an hour in the a.m. and two or three hours in the p.m. and she’s pretty much maintaining a good weight.” - L.S., rec.equestrian

“I couldn’t believe my pony adapted so easily. She seems very happy and comfortable with it on.” - C.R., Montrose, PA

“My founder-prone Morgan is doing great with the (Best Friend) Grazing Muzzle. She is now able to roam the pasture for several hours!” - J.A., Fowlerville, MI

"In the past my horse, Joy, has suffered badly from colic over the summer months, which has caused me a lot of heartache and a lot of money... I can seriously say that the use of a grazing muzzle is the best technique I have tried to get my pony to eat less and prevent her colic.  After a few miserable days in the field, she adapted to the muzzle and now wears it daily without any fuss... I am so grateful. I firmly believe that without the muzzle I would not be able to cope with the stress, and would possibly have had to sell my pony by now." - Anna, via email

"As soon as I opened the box with (a different brand muzzle) I did not like it as much as my Best Friend Muzzles. It had a strong odor of rubber and the bottom was not as rounded and somehow looked cheaper. Within the first 24 hours it rubbed Andy under his ears and on his nose. It now has been  used for ~240 hours (3 weeks of 12 hour days) and it is already showing signs of wear in the hole in the bottom.  My Best Friend muzzles have been used at least 4 times as long (at least 1000 hours) and still look new. Also, the (other brand) now has a foul, putrid odor, like something dead is in it. I have never had this problem with my Best Friend muzzles." - L.F., Knoxville TN (October 17, 2007)

The (other brand muzzle) "started showing signs of wear on the rubber hole within five days for so. And now, after three weeks of wearing it daily for approximately 8 hours per day the rubber straps have started to break. It has not held up as well as the Best Friend muzzles." - S.S., Sautee-Nacoochee, GA

"My Morgan gelding foundered last summer from overgrazing so we've been using your muzzle and it works great! He looks like a different horse. I must say I was a bit skeptical if he ould get used to it and if it would stay on. It only took about a day for him to get used to it and it hasn't come off once yet. He is pastured with another gelding who rips everything off of all the other horses but even he has not been successful at removing it." - Dean Larson

"I have an 11 year old Tennessee Walking Horse mare that foundered at age 3 and was diagnosed with EPM at age 4.  She has been wearing a muzzle since then--willingly. I had a Best Friend muzzle early on, but thought I would start buying locally. I bought Weaver and JT International and have collection of 8 or more of these muzzles, none of which stood up against the BF muzzle.  Those that she didn't rip up completely were constantly being repaired.  So I went back to the Best Friend muzzle--good decision!" - Rachael via e-mail

“I just wanted to thank you for your grazing muzzle.  My 25 year old Welsh/Quarter horse pony who has Cushing’s disease did sustain a mild founder last September.  I board my horse with 20 other head of horses including two Percherons.  Needless to say, all are in good flesh and I don’t know if it was the Cushing’s or feeding that just pushed her over the edge into laminitis.  Anyway, I am so happy to have your product for her because she can be with the herd still and have threat dangerous over-consumption of grasses curtailed.  I have a 20 year old Morgan with a fleshy mane and I asked the manager that he too be muzzled—in fear of laminitis.  Thank you for your Blessed Product…”  - A.P., via e-mail
