The Tie Safe Cross-Tie doesn't have the "snap back" danger of stretchy ties.  It features a panic snap at one end and a solid brass trigger snap at the other. The patented velcro connector releases if your horse panics, reducing risk of injury to you and your horse and protecting your tack.  The short end of the tether stays with the horse and the long section stays connected to the wall or trailer, ready to re-attach and re-use.
